Dear friends of the Theater Spektakel
The programme for Theater Spektakel 2015, which has been almost finalized, offers again a showcase of well-established names and promising new talents, of sophisticated and entertaining creations. We are pleased to announce some of the highlights: Apart from outstanding theatre – such as «The Dark Ages» by Milo Rau or the provocative piece on the last days of Allende by the young Chilean popular theatre group La Re-sentida – two very different shows illustrate the different facets of circus: Cirque Trottola performs in a magic chapiteau and Martin Zimmermann presents his new solo act, «Hallo».
With nine productions and a series of excellent performers from around the globe, dance and performance take a prominent place in this year's programme. It ranges from the first full-length piece of Philippine performer Eisa Jocson, (winner of the ZKB Acknowledgement prize 2014) to the innovative flamenco dance of Rocío Molina from Spain.
The music department has some wonderful and wonderfully weird productions in store such as the Dakh Daughters from Ukraine with their Freak Cabaret or Otto Lechner and the Wiener Ziehharmoniker, who will perform musical highlights on the lakeside stage.

As an exception, the Theater Spektakel 2015 will take place one week earlier, that is in the penultimate week of the summer holidays (6 to 23 August). The programme for children and families will therefore be expanded: Judith Nab presents her video installation for children throughout the festival, Theater Sgaramusch offers «Dingdonggrüezi» and the mythic kids’ rock band Schtärneföifi première their jubilee theatre show. Children from 10 years can choose from various circus productions. Additionally, the Zentral Stage offers a family programme on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Several activities will take place in and around the Röhrli-Bar.

- 3-4 single rooms or a 3-4-bedroom flat: 6 to 23 August
- 4 single rooms or a 4-bedroom flat: 16 to 24 August
The flats/rooms should be low-rent or no-cost, situated in or near the centre of Zurich and be close to public transport.

No, this is not the name of a group performing on the Zentral Stage but the names of the two new restaurants on the Landiwiese. The Cantina next to the main entrance will be run by the experienced personal chef Andreas Bossert and Sabina Wegmann.The latter has indulged festival visitors with her delicacies at the Zentral-Bar in the past few years. The new culinary heads of the Cantina describe their offerings as «creative natural cooking» and promise a «buffet of cheerful nibbles». We will queue up in curious anticipation!
The name of the self-service restaurant «Patata» reveals its main, but not sole, ingredient. Chef Florian Bachofner and his Best-Catering make the most out of this versatile root vegetable: baked potatoes, French fries, gnocchi – served with barbecued meat or sausages. Payment of annual contributions must be made within the next couple of weeks. If you want to profit this year from the numerous perks, such as the exclusive advance booking for Patrons, you need to pay your contribution (CHF 150.- for single patrons; CHF 80.- for people under thirty) by 10 June 2015. Due to renovation of the Quaibrücke, there will be no box office at Bellevue this year. You can purchase your tickets at the Theater Spektakel box office at Bahnhofstrasse close to the Pestalozzi-Anlage (Globus). Opening hours from 8 July to 5 August 2015: 11.00 to 14.00 hrs / 16.00 to 20.00 hrs.
